Mandatory Billing in the Restaurant Sector

Since June 1, 2025, restaurants in Québec that are subject to mandatory billing must use a sales recording system (SRS) certified by Revenu Québec and designed to communicate with WEB-SRM, the cloud-based solution that replaced the former sales recording module (SRM). The old SRM devices can no longer be used.

What the law requires

• Use an SRS certified by Revenu Québec for WEB-SRM.
• Transmit the data of every transaction to WEB-SRM through the certified SRS.
• Give each customer an invoice (or credit note) produced by the certified SRS.
• Keep the reports and records required by Revenu Québec.
